Just curious what the percentages are and reasons. I do plan on taking it, just an issue with finding the time. At least that's my excuse for the last 10 years or so.

Yes, when I did it it was to increase my hunting opportunities.

I took it to further my education and as a refresher. I know there are more opportunities, but I doubt I will be able to take advantage of them.  :)

I did it because of the furthering my education, better hunting and to add to my resume as a accomplishment. I am also going toschool for wildlife biology so it will always help.

I took the course four years ago. Found the course an eye opener, appreciated the education and enjoyed the challenge of taking the course for something I enjoy so much...hunting.  :twocents:
This year was the first year I was actually able to enjoy one of the MH hunts for elk.
I reccommend it..

I have a couple of friends that are both master hunters and they have become very disillusioned with both the game department and the master hunter program.  One of them has been drawn for two different elk hunts and both times he has been hosed by the hunt master. Once on a hunt near Hanford and the other time was last year over on the Olympic Peninsula.  The Hanford hunt he was never called to participate in a hunt from August through February and the other he was told by the hunt master to come over so he did and then was told oh you have to wait we were in there yesterday and moved everything out, then no more calls.  My other friend has just complained about any seasons that were for anything other than antlerless. So even though you get the Master Hunter title there are still some problems.  The main thing is you do have an oppertunity to get some good knowledge, even though the same knowledge can be learned without the fence repair and clean-up of parking areas.  My own 2cents
