Dear Black Bear Tag Holders:
If you harvest a black bear in King, Snohomish, or Chelan counties please notify the Department within 24 hours of the kill to schedule a time for Department staff to collect samples from your bear.  The Department is conducting a research project in these counties that requires DNA samples and information from any harvested bear in this license year in said counties.  If you harvest a bear in King, Snohomish, or Chelan counties, please call one of our Regional offices and provide your name and contact information, date and location of kill, and sex of animal, and Department staff will make arrangements to meet with you.

Thank you for your assistance and good luck during your hunt!
