7yrs hunting 1st kill ever
« on: October 15, 2013, 10:41:14 AM »
I have been hunting for about 7 yrs now and had some opportunities but never sealed the deal with lack o f expiriance and me thinking the shots were not exactly ethical shots well I guess this was my yr I started my deer season late got off work Friday around 9 and left for a weekend hunt in a brand new area got to the area at 3 am slept for a few hr alarm went off slept a little while later and got up to hunt around 630 am started hiking at 7 the rush was super wet so we decided to go to the top of the ridge we got to a spot were we could see for a good distance and sat to glass not even a minute late my dads friend calls me over about 25 yards were he was sitting and says I see something I pull up the binos to take a look and this cougar was on the ledge above we're we walked in I got a good solid rest and drilled him he fell not 15 yards from the shelf I took another shot when we found him in the head and he was gone I've been hunting for 7 yrs and didn't take shots on good animals because the shots wernt there this was the most ethical shot opportunity I have had I took t the shot was a little over 200 yards my very first kill ever and a hunt I will always remember

Wow, now that's a first kill.   Sad testament to what the deer herds are nowadays.  Nice trophy.

Welcome to the site!  Nice CAT!

Awesome first kill. Great story. Thanks for sharing.
