Toad or No?
« on: October 15, 2013, 04:55:13 PM »
I'm guessing toad.  I don't have any bear kills YET but from other pics I've seen he looks like a good one.  I have a bet he will go 300 and if not who cares I still have a bear and it only cost me lunch lol

Those are pears on the ground and I didn't place them there and I won't shoot him at night.

Now that that is out the way I have him narrowed down to a small patch of timber and a couple pear trees(4-6 acres where I think he will be at light) in some thick nasty stuff.  I wanted to use my 7mm but after being in there a few times I think I'm better off with the 12gauge and slug.  I can get off rounds quicker with it and not have to mess with a scope.  If he is on a the same trail as me coming in or out it could be trouble it's tight with blackberry bushes.  Wish me luck :mgun:

That thing is a blimp! Yeah, I'd say that bears' been livin' the good life...hasn't skipped a meal for a long while. I wonder if you can try and lure the bear out with a fawn bleat or something like it so you can get a clear shot? Good luck.

If going by skull size - not a toad.  If going by body size - an absolute toad!  And I bet after eating pear it just might be the best eating toad you're ever going to shoot   Good luck!  Can't wait to see the glory pics

Yup, a shooter for sure.
