I hunt both of those units. Hunt the timber slow real slow. I also find them in the thick nasty stuff. They are there keep at it.

Move through the thick stuff real slow and quietly... or find a spot you can see and sit and wait...have had a lot of success mid-day as well. :twocents:

blacktail can be tricky critters to hunt.  I started seeing more deer when I went away from hunting clear cuts and focused on old brushy grades behind gates in the real thick stuff where no one drives and few people go.  Keep after it I killed my buck in the north part of 407 on the last day of late season last year

I hunted there last weekend,, and just got back from hunting there this afternoon. I'll be back there tomorrow morning. I'll keep going there until I get something or the season ends. I'll also be hunting in 407 during late season. There's deer up there,, they're just not hangin off every tree. It's hunting,, not just shooting. If ya just wanna shoot one,, get a guided hunt. I love hunting,,, it' be nice to bring a deer home,, but I don't consider it a loss if I don't. If it was just about the kill for me,, I'd be hunting Lakeway in a fast moving car. It's awsome up there,, no cell phone, no computer, no gov. shutdown, no pushy people, and no hassles. But that's just my take on it,, just the way I roll,,, I was fishing a few weeks ago and took the hook off my lure cuz I didn't wanna bother with catching and cleaning anything,, just wanted to be fishing. Get out and have fun, be safe, and good luck doing what you wanna do!!

I'm going back this afternoon and have  new hopes to get one. This forum is awesome and all the people are amazing and helpful. I been fishing lately and gotten some real nice salmon met lots of fishermen who are so kind and helpful as well--if the rest of the world would fish and hunt we would have less problems in society. But then, we may run out of animals so maybe not a good idea.
Thanks everyone!!
I will show pics when I get my buck.  :)

P.s. n2thecraft---you are absolutely right and I love your comments.

You have to get permission on some good private property.  Pay attention all year where the deer are,  and see who will let you hunt their fields.  Or you can get behind some gates and glass some clearcuts.  They are there, just keep at it.
