Gunsmith in Olympia?
« on: October 30, 2008, 11:14:19 PM »
Looking for somebody to take my Remington to to have my trigger lightened. It has the new X-Mark Pro Trigger if that makes a difference. I adjusted my old Rem 700 myself, but I could never get it to where it felt consistent, so I would rather just take this one to somebody and have them do it. I'm in Tenino, so anywhere from Chehalis to Lacey I will consider driving. Thanks.

Antlershed their is a guy named "Les" that works for Sportsman Wearhouse in Lacey.  He works behind the gun counter.  Real nice guy.  I know he does a lot of gun smithing on the side.  I've never had him do any work for me, yet.  Not saying just take your gun in to him.  Go talk to him and make up your own mind.   :)

Thanks Michelle. I'll have to swing in there this weekend and see if he's around.

I think Olympic Arms in Nisqually might do it for you.

Thanks. I'm not sure why I didn't think of them. I will have to give them a call.

There is a gunsmith not far from Tenino on 93rd Avenue, just off of Hwy 99. I just had him install a new Timney trigger in my Weatherby Vangaurd a couple of months ago. He works out of his house and you need to make an appointment to see him, but he responds promptly to email. His name is Jack Morris, phone number 360-352-4083, and email is cumberlandsports@msn.com.

He is not listed in the phone book so you will not find him there.

I also just recently have seen a sign for "gun repair" just west of Rochester on Hwy 12. Don't know anything about it, just noticed the new sign within the last few weeks.

Ron is usually out shooting Competition somewhere. It is really hard to catch him.  You could try William Morrow on the corner of School street and Titan Drive. His number is 491-5456

Yeap Jack Morris of Cumberland sports.  Real nice guy.
Progressives are coming for your guns.
What are you going to do?

Well me, I do not have any guns, gave away or sold them 15 years ago.

Antlershed,  Did he quote you a price?  Just curious what he charges for a trigger job?

His rate is $25 per hour. He said the trigger job should take him about an hour. Seems reasonable to me to make sure it is done right.

That seems very fair!  How light you gonna go on the trigger?
