I tend to fall into the camp focusing on the fact that they did their study on Goldens. I'd like to see more research done with other breeds, particularly "healthier breeds" that aren't as prone to as many problems as a lot of Goldens are.

At the end of the day I think it really boils down to the owner and what they want out of the dog. If your dog is going to be a field trial dog that also hunts 30-60 days during hunting season it is probably wise to wait. House dog that won't see anywhere near that amount of action...get the dog fixed whenever you want after six months.
