Fighting Panic is Often Tough
« on: September 29, 2008, 07:12:58 PM »
If anyone has any questions regarding all that's going on in the markets, please feel free to call me anytime (see contact info below). Whether you're seeking advise or just a better explanation & understanding of what's happening, I'd be more than happy to chat with you.  I have extensive education and experience in Personal Finance, and want to make myself available to you as a resource to help you navigate these difficult economic times.

Many of you are looking at your brokerage or 401(k) account balance these days and may want to yank every last cent out of the markets. But, unless you need that money soon, you ought to stifle that urge. It's understandable that you would be unnerved by triple-digit drops in the Dow Jones industrials, failures of well-known banks and troubles at other financial houses. But, you should remember that scary times often bring the best buying opportunities and that fear can lead you to make unwise moves, including abandoning a well-thought-out, long-term investing plan.   A hasty run from the market likely will just lock in losses.
