Best part of the state to hunt blacktails?

I hear it's good around Bellingham. Some big bucks up there. Definitely not Thurston County. I've hunted five full days so far and a couple of evenings after work, and have yet to see a deer.

Lewis county, Kitsap for big bucks. Skagit and Whatcom holds good deer too. The area you know best is usually a good bet.

If you go by harvest reports Kitsap county has good success rates and many of them are bigger bucks.  Small parcels of land and tough to get access, though.

Ocean shores, Bellingham, Tumwater, Olympia, or Vancouver all hold great bucks. Oh, the Cabelas in Lacey as well is worth a look.  Seriously tho, For big bucks go high.... wait are we talking Bench bucks, Cascade Bucks, I-5 Bucks, or " True Blacktails" ...cuz everybody knows those only come from Oly Pen. And you could go high for those as well, but if you do don't mention it cuz it may be confused as a cascade Buck. Also try not to post many pictures of the entire deer because more than likely the location of the kill will be identified by the following formula.... Circumference of the neck, divided by number of points squared X overall mass measurement + length of eyguards - estimated body weight + the square root of the percentage of the tail that is black= definitive location of the bucks whereabouts within 15 miles!

   IMO... The area you know best is best. Good blacktails are taken every year in every area that has them, with great bucks coming from the same areas just more sporadic.

i have family that has timber to hunt in kitsap and there used to be deer in there but the coyotes pushed everything out  dens everywhere spent the summer trying to thin them out and saw a few deer. thinking about trying the late season there

Yeah.  This is the reason Mason County hunters frequent Kitsap and Grey's Harbor counties.

Anywhere that has more clearcuts and reprod than  mature timber. Deer live and feed in reprod, I look for clear cuts that border it. I also tend to see less deer in areas with good concentrations of elk. Lewis county is known for giants but I don't see a lot of deer where I hunt there.

That should be enough information to start on finding your own area
