Sneakyjake deer 2013
« on: October 19, 2013, 10:15:01 PM »
Short and sweet this year.   Same area, I just took my mule this time so I wouldn't have to haul the deer out alone.   His 70'year old parents came also, and they are incredible hunters.  I shot the deer in the afternoon on my first day.   4 miles in with about a 3000' gain.   Took two of us nearly 3 hours to get him out.   Still a lot easier then last year alone. Not much more interesting then that.  Still, from packing to processing it took a week.  Great to hunt with friends, especially people in that age category that can put most of us to shame.  Ended up buying a used 7mm weatherby mag.  First gun.   Shot flawlessly.  There goes my late special permit.

Way to go. Glad to see you gettin all these tags filled in just part of a day, seems your elk was a short hunt too. Leaves a lot lore time for the "other" things in life . Nice looking buck.
