We hunted Saturday and Sunday, killed two limits Saturday and 5 birds on Sunday. Lots of people and fewer birds than last year.

We headed east with the trailer and limited out on Saturday in an hour, hunted all day on Sunday and only flushed one. Saturday I had my limit so early that I grabbed the rifle and headed into the hills for deer. (only saw one spike and some does).

4 on the weekend was decent. The dogs sure were happy to get back out though! The weather was amazing. I was hunting in a t-shirt and was actually hot!

We hunted Saturday. We flushed 5 roosters and 5 hens, only shot 1 though. Not many young birds at all. Seems like a down year.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

We got our 6 before 10 Sat and only 2 Sun. It should have been better than last year, I thought we had a dryer spring. Maybe it got too cold at the wrong time. There were 2 very young roosters that my partner almost didn't shoot because he had to make sure they had some red around the eyes.

Hunted mon-fri of opening week hard.  Five days, two good dogs, two guys, eight birds.  Not one young bird in the bunch.  We hunted areas for hours where we usually put up 10-12 birds and saw nothing.  Most areas had one or two birds or none.  Very tough.  Worst year in the 37 years of hunting this area.  Some folks we talked with had nothing.  We went a full day with nothing.  Didn't even see a rooster and Im talking dawn to dusk in good areas.   Hoping we don't see this again.
