Getting a new stock

My stock on my Savage model 110 in 243 finally gave up on me after getting it brand new over 18 years ago... Really amazed it lasted that long... Started to notice groups getting bigger last year and now the fore end just moves all over... 4" groups at 100 yards now...

After my bathroom incident and not sure on how much that will also cost right now... I've looked some over a little and would like to know if any of you have experience with some or know of anything that could be in my price range which isn't much.... Even web site I'm not seeing or something.. I don't need anything fancy or top notch... Just a decent stock for what I mainly use the rifle for... Deer hunting...

I want some type of synthetic...
No more then $150 with shipping...

I know... Sounds pretty damn cheap but in reality that's all I need...

I've looked at a bunch of sites. A2Z Outdoors, Ramline, Brownells, Midway, Cheaper then dirt, Optics Planet, and a few others... Mixed results... Some had same with just different prices on product and shipping....

Saw a bunch of stuff on Amazon,Ebay as well but not trying to go that route... I need to know it's new in the box just for self ease I guess... And the factory Savage stocks didn't have very good feedback...

Look at Boyds gunstocks. I have seen a couple of their stocks and they looked GREAT and were installed by the owners without any additional work required.

Think they're all wood and way out of my price range... I'd beat the hell out of something that nice...

I'd get a bell and carlson. They are a little over your price but not much

I'd either up your budget a little and get a Bell and Carlson or go on ebay and find a take off that fits. If all you're doing is deer hunting, you'll find them plenty cheap enough. You'll need to know long action or short action, if it has a hinged floor plate or if it loads from the top and whether it's center feed or stagger feed.

All the Bell and Carlson stocks for the Savage 110 Long action with a bling mag top load have been discontinued and none in stock at the sites I was on... I would've bit the bullet and raised the budget just from reading the reviews about them...

I have had great success with Boyd's laminated stocks. I have three of them on three guns, a Mosin Nagant, a Ruger 10/22 and an old Rossi shotgun. Good pricing, excellent customer service, fast shipping. Attached is a picture of the Mosin Nagant I just finished.

I need a new stock also. I,m going to give Boyds a try. I,ve been using ram-line since the early 90.s on four different rifles. Never had a problem. I think they are decent for the money. I like the look of the Boyds and I like the price. I,m going to put one on my JC-Higgins model-50, .270. Should make that old gun look sweet. Will have to file in the bolt slot for the mauser action. For the savage 110 the ram-line I have was drop in. No fitting required.Pretty sure the Boyds and Hogue are drop in also. Most mausers need a small amount of fitting.
