of the 'got a trail cam stolen' club. i run a few cams in the colockum as it is my backyard. i have had cams in here the last few years and never had an issue, in fact never have gotten a person on cam in there, until this year. amazing to see the amount of shroom pickers and what lengths they go to collect those nasty things. i have it in a box with a cable lock. it was a cam that is about 1 1/2-2 miles in. was set up on a wallow that i was really looking forward to catching some of the monsters this year on. i will be putting another one there next year but will beef up security on it with a heavier box and more screwsi guess. pretty disappointing. thats the way it goes though.

First instinct is to say welcome to the club, but I guess the appropriate response is to say sorry to here that.

man, just my own opinion, take it for what you will, but beefing up security with heavier box etc is not the way to go the way i see it.  boxes and chains and python locks and whatnot make them more visible.  somebody will cut down the tree if they want it bad enough.  only way to keep it from getting stolen is to keep it from being noticed.  i say skip the locks and cables and chains and boxes.  get a screw in mount like the slate river cam mount and a couple sections of portable tree stand ladder and hang the *censored* 18 feet up.  who looks up in trees?
