They still planting mid week?
For a newbie - is it safe to go in boots or is this wader country? I've been told it floods but it doesn't seem like it should be flooded....yet.

It's not flooded. There's tall grass and I'd plan on your pants getting soaked from the wet grass but you shouldn't need waders unless you fall into one of the canals.
I think they plant birds on Wednesday but I can't say for sure.
