Points System.
« on: October 23, 2013, 08:53:56 AM »
I know this is a touchy subject with some here but am looking for if anybody heard of something like this.  A co worker asked me if I have heard about WDFW taking away points because you have to many.  The co worker has a hunter in his camp that said that they took away points because he had to many for branched antler permit.  I am sure that is called quality now.  He had 16 and they put him back to 13. :yike:  Anyone heard of this.  :dunno: I haven't.

No.

I have several friends and folks I know with max points and they keep building year after year. My guess is someone made a mistake counting their points.

Yeah. There is a points cap now.

Or they put in a group App with lower point applicants and saw the average thinking their own individual point total had changed.

Don't see that on anything on WDFW website about a points cap.

There is no points cap.
Look at folks with poacher points sitting on 20-30 points.... I think Polarbear is one of them if I recall.

Some individuals had 37 points. There is no cap. Never has been.

:yeah:  No Cap.     Cow tags are still out of wack because of the way they handed them out when they split categories.

Point system sucks, but once started, you are in it until you rot.

Right. The guys that had 10-12 points have that many points in all categories, which skews the system.
