where are the bulls?

We are three days in and no big bull pictures.  I'm sure some have hit the dirt by now.  Where's the reports and pictures?

I talked to the fish seeker group today in the bethel and they haven't seen much.  I agreed with them its been too hot. Hopefully a bull will kick up for them this week.

Also, I have seen a few in the back of trucks but not as many as last year.

My dad has a peaches any bull tag but seems to be less than pleased with his guide experience.  Hoping he connects though.

He told me it was a raghorn.    :chuckle:    although I know he pulled the tape out before he gutted it.

Another one bit the dust today.  He's a member on here so I'm sure we'll see those pics as soon as he gets it packed out.

There's been a few bulls that have avoided the huntwa media attention this year. Kind of sucks but it is what it is I guess.

I dropped a 5x5 yesterday in the 340 by Tamarack Springs (Observatory Tag).  Smallest 5x5 rack I have ever seen, must have been one well fed Bull.  Weighed 300lbs hanging at the butcher.  Believe me, I hunted 3 days HARD and no Bulls, but saw a lot of fresh sign.  My guess is it was so quite due to lack of general elk season hunters that they would hear me fairly easily even though i was being stealthy and they would just "walk off".  Thats the only way to describe it, they would walk away.  Dumb luck, I finally had two elk run parall to my truck and when I stepped into ambush ahead of them a 5x5 walked out and POP.  Done. Ill try to post a pick soon.

I got a picture via text of a big watershed bull that was killed earlier in the week.  I'm not sure if he's on here or not, so I will give it some time before I post the pic up.  (I leave for camp today, so about 12 days seems about the right amount of time  :chuckle:).  This thread is turning into one big tease.
