Now that most people have seen a wolf on video due to the current number of shows on Alaska, coyotes and dogs turned back into coyotes and dogs and "The Three Little Pigs" is no longer used as a reference book.

Not according to "Little Red Riding Hood" and some "Hillbillies" without cable down here in the southern Cascades.

Well, you know there were a lot of reports in the Methow of wolves spotted during deer season.  The hunters are just not reporting them to the WDFW because they have figured out it falls on deaf ears.  Some reports of the 3  S's so those reports must die fast but several reports of clearly 6 wolves in the Lookout Pack for sure.  We knew there were 2 pups last year and the two adults but assumed the 3 new pups this year brought it to 7.  It appears maybe one pup is deceased since there are only 6 seen together at one time.

Haven't been up that way in years but have slept at the shelter at Swamp Lake a few times while trapping marten.

What strikes me funny is that thousands of "trail cameras" have been sold and used in Washington without a single picture of "Bigfoot" or wolves (that I know of?) in the southern Cascades (below I-90) yet I still hear people, mainly tenderfoots, claiming they see them, tracks, and hear them.

Makes one wonder?

Who one here on this thread has made a comment of the south cascades. Comments above are referring to the Methow Valley. Do you know where that is even? you don't need to change the direction of the conversation just because evidence is showing maybe just how bad the problem up there is becoming?  But then again, I'm just one of those "tenderfoot" you always refer too so it doesn't matter...

exactly..am glad for you and your trust in "all things honest" that you hear and read from our WDFW...I don't believe in what I read, what I am told, or conspiracies.. I believe in what I see with my own eyes, hear with my own ears...some need to get in and spend time in these areas so they can comment with a little more credible authority other then "WDFW" told me so..by the way, heard wolve 2 nights in a row back in early elk..camped a mile below Little Bald, your neck of the woods Cougartail..am probably mistaken, as the coyotes down there have been learning to mimic the howl of their larger cousins!

Agreed, and thats always the "fall back" excuse for you wolf advocates. It would be nice if we all had 1000mm f/2.8 lenses and 20MP DSLR's attached to our forheads, but we do what we can at the time.

Like I said, I have seen both wolf and coyote in the wild in my time and do know the difference. I didn't take the time to try to get digi pics of some coyotes, I see plenty of those much closer every day that I'm out there, that I can get good pics of with my camera rather than 1/2 mile away with a cell phone.

I don't believe in bigfoot and will never post up a image of one, but there is no doubt these were wolves, regardless whether the images are clear or not.

Well, in "Turkey School" they obviously don't teach track identification or how to spell "embarrassing".

The school I went to did teach us how to use one of these and to not be afraid of the "big bad wolf". It was a mens school. Limited entry as you couldn't go.

Wolf sightings are becoming more frequent, seems to be more black wolf sightings then usual.

I was talking to a lady in Colorado this afternoon, she said they have wolves and have reported them, the response they have gotten is, they are either coyotes or hybrids. She said their neighbors forty miles away have reported the same with the same outcome.

Two years ago there were reports of wolves in CO, and the USFWS denied the reports. 

WDFW claim their are one maybe two wolves in the lookout pack.

It is without question a cougar.  Look at the heel pad.  It is not triangular like a canine, and has the three lobes on the back of the heel like a cat.  The middle two toes are not even with each other, and the overall track shape is round without visible claws.

+1 that track screams cat.  K9 toes are more tear dropped not round. Can draw an X in a dog track. Not a cat. That track has more of an H. Jmo
