Heard one the other day, or several, along withthat big fight.  I just can't do it like they do.  I have the wheezing down, but not the snort.  Need to practice that at home. :chuckle:   If you can think of any other ideas Sky I am all ears.  You're right, I probably have more shoe ideas than shoe leather but having trouble pinning them down.  There is enough snow up in the rocks to drop them.  Its bare at about 4500-5000.  I think  Its almost a good thing because it came down wet and it redefines CRUNCHY

So what do you contribute the decrease in numbers too?  During the general season, didn't seem to be a lot of shooting going on?

Gotta be deer to shoot.   Very hard winter and very late spring.   The snow conditions withthe heavy crust and predation with coyotes (a few wolves) cats, dogs, decreased winter range, prior drought so poor forage.

Bench was the only one who commented on that deers ass.  Should I put it in its own thread.  WHat do ou guys think?

There was a crazy amount of bear sign in the mid elevations (3-5K ft) of that area during the general season.

So....ever have thoughts of desperation or fear of not seeing your buck when you were hunting....

Not this early, you have lots of time. On the other hand, I was going crazy from Dec 29-31 last year.

I thought of you Ray when I busted him.  Score is even now.  I let one live, couldn't get one so they got the point and then dusted this one. LOL

I think and so does booner that its whitetail influence. The hind end looks whitetail.  Then Muley influence everywhere else.  LONG WAYS from any blacktail.  LONG WAYS.  WHen it was walking away from me, from a long ways away I was thinking whitetail.  His tail is sure wacked.

Sort of like Nov 17 and 18th for me.  COurse my daughters birthday is the 16th and I think Timber and I have a trip on the 19th and I would like to make sure a forest fire or a big logging operation hasn't wacked where I am taking him.

Hey Bone, can you go back and kill that Bench Buck that you got pictures of, I need that cape , bad  :chuckle:

Looks like a bench buck to me, just the face , Tail , and tarsal glands are screaming blacktail. I had seen the crosses around CleElum but not sure how far that is from you.

Definitely looks like a hybrid to me as well.  A very nice sized body on him.

Thanks for continuing to share your hunt with us.

Your welcome Dreaming...its fun.  Kinda makes it more exciting, I can see why 300 felt some pressure.  By the time I get home, get something in the gut, get the pics done and get to bed, I think I forgot a good shot of whiskey.

No problem Charlie.  DId you note the cape on the three point earlier.  Man I liked that black stripe.
