Sorry guys, had to travel half the state, take pictures of a big one IN MY UNIT that I didn't get and look for those 190s which I didn't find.  I gave up on one as it was the wrong time of day, and went after another.  I am sure he was there as it was the biggest herd of does I have seen out in the hills (not in a field), but I sure couldn't find him.  Could be why he is BIG.   Anyway.  It has dawned on me that I must have been excited as half of my pics of the buck I cut my head off. LOL   I guess you probably would rather look at the buck anyhow.....Here he is.  At least one pic.   I just finished cutting and wrapping him.   Now I am off to Idaho I think in the morning at 0200.  Lets see if I can get this done quickly.  I have a few loose ends to check.  Like is the season still open. :chuckle:
By the way, before I get attacked by the orange police, it was on.  I didn't want it in the pics.   Thanks for being concerned though.  I still don't know if I even had to wear it, but I did.

his neck was slightly larger than swollen.  Then to top it all off, I didn't have my tape with me to measure his neck, and I did Michelles neck technique for the first time.  Can't say I will ever do that again.  ANyhow I am not sure how I will get an accurate measurement.

Look at that cape!!! You need to do one of them swelled neck nounts and get that hair fluffed up  too! I can see an awesome mount with that buck! Are you gona tan it yourself? If you have an extra form lying around test fit it on that  first. I have a big swell neck form I test fit mine on and then measure the differance . Or if the cape is larger leasure the over lap.

Great Mature buck you got there Doug! I love the dark horns also! Wish you were closer I would give you a hand when you mount him!

Good luck in Idaho! ......and Montana?

Congrats again!

He is going to be a fun one to find a form for.  He has a really short nose, HUGE neck and just for you VEK, the Roman Nose pic!  I haven't got a tape on his bases yet, but he has some pretty good burrs and mass.

I probably will tan him myself though if I get one in Idaho or Montana I might think about sending them to a tannery.  I have never done that before.  Thanks Charlie!  He met one of my goals as an old buck.  Thats for sure.   Now I need to pack and get some stuff found, like my tag. LOL I think its in my pack but I better check.  I assume my spot is still open but I need to confirm.

What did his nose tape out to? Sure its not longer than you think? Looks like a real heavy headed bugger, could be decieving.
