In search of some help

This is my very first post, I have been on this forum for quite some time and really looking for some tips, I do a lot of waterfowl hunting, I have some private property that I have been hunting for the past 3 years and giving up on that because the land owner just won't call he back haha I'm a respectful hunter who always cleans up bit his boys just passed there hunters education and you got it family comes first, but I got a 14' Jon last year with a 8hp and want to do some hunting on the nisqually and skagit but just don't know if its worth the drive, I'm fixing on heading out Saturday with a few buddies who I have hunted with for quite a few years now and was wondering if anyone could help me out, I'm willing to drive just a kid wanting to kill some ducks and educate my dog a bunch more, and tips or help on a decent spot will be more than highly appreciated!!!!

Each of the areas you mentioned are heavily affected by the tides and it would be worth your while to spend some time during daylight hours exploring them. I have never hunted either by boat but I have hiked in to the Skagit on many occasions. On days when there is a big tide swing there are vast mud flats exposed. Even in the sloughs you may be fine getting in at hightide but when it goes out you may be trapped or left high and dry. There definately is some good hunting to be had but it takes an investment of time and effort to dial in the suitable spots. It can also be quite crowded so it pays to know a spot and get to it. Chances are, if your not there someone else will be. But I guess that is just Westside public land in general. Good luck!

Mfoul I appreciate your reply, I do plan on going during the day to get a little perspective on the areas, might just end up heading over east until I have some time to do some scouting, but thank you again if you have any other helpful tips they would be very much appreciated!

Use google maps to identify the boat launches, sloughs and backwaters prior to your scouting so you have some ideas on where to look. Might as well look into the quality hunt fields in the area while your there. I am not a big fan of them have but they do provide good opportunity/ hunting from time to time. Wind and weather and small tide changes are good times to target the Skagit. On the calm days the birds sit way out in the saltwater and don't move.

Ok, I may be going out Saturday to do some looking around up there or nisqually, don't totally know where yet but I will look on google maps and check it out, hey thanks agin I appreciate it!
