Another new guy, looking for hunting partner(s)
« on: October 25, 2013, 06:49:16 AM »
Another new guy here... looking for hunting or fishing partners in the Gig Harbor/South Sound area.

All the guys I hunt with live on the east side, so I'd like to find some opportunities closer to home for just about anything.   I am pretty busy with work and family but am serious about spending some time in the woods.  Just wish I had a reliable, serious partner to split gas, time, etc with.

I am pretty green when it comes to hunting.  This will be my 4th year MF elk hunting (leaving tomorrow!) and 3rd year waterfowl (both  on the eastside).  I was lucky to be brought into an elk camp where the guys have been really cool, taking me under their wing.  Learning a lot, and have been bitten by the bug.  I want to try my hand at other opportunities...  bear, coug, westside waterfowl, etc etc.  and I'm always down for some fishin too.

I have no problem putting in the time and work, but it can be overwhelming at times to navigate regs, land use, etc!

Where exactly do you go hunting at? I am new to the area and wish to go before the season is up.

Well 340 or 342 for elk.  Moses Lake area for duck and geese.  As much as I like the eastside, it would be nice to find some spots closer to home for deer, waterfowl, bear etc as I can only get over there so many weekends a season.

Are you doing any archery hunting for deer or bear ? I live in the belfair area and i am hoping to do a bunch of scouting as soon as the hunting is over for the year. I have a few areas locally if ya want to team up.
