Mt. Spokane south OIL Moose
« on: October 25, 2013, 03:36:58 PM »
I finally have time to write my story on my OIL moose. I started scouting in July to learn the area making about 2 trips per month then went up 4 days prior to season opener. Seen many bulls while scouting but nothing real big. Then finally on the Sunday before the season I saw what I considered a shooter. It was the biggest we had seen since I have been up there scouting. Opening day came around and passed on a smaller bull and seen another bull that eventually someone ended up shooting but couldn't find the one we were after. On second day we went back to the area again were we had last seen the bull and after a short time herd him calling and he came within 60 yards when I shot. I was a great experience and sad that it's over. Hopefully one of my boys or hunting partners will get drawn to be able to experience this again. Thanks for everyone for all the info and help.
