Heading to Montana with a Surplus Deer Tag.
« on: June 21, 2013, 10:02:43 AM »
A buddy of mine and I are heading to Montana with Surplus deer tags for the first time since we struck out on all the drawings this year.  We are thinking of heading over southeast of Billings to hunt Public land or some of the block management areas.  Looking to go Nov 16-24th.

If anyone has any suggestions or info it would be appreciated.  Shoot me a PM if you would rather.

Thanks in Advance.

Take some tire chains along this year and some snow gear.  It looks like an early winter to me.    I hunted over there for 30 years and had some years hunting in a teeshirt and some years camped out at -10 degrees.   This looks like it may be one of the cold years.

I've singlehandedly (err...rifledly) been responsible for a number of prairie dog deaths east of Harlowtown.

I'll be over the last week of November, good luck.
