Waterfowl on JBLM
« on: October 26, 2013, 06:32:39 PM »
Anyone on here hunted waterfowl on JBLM and had much success? I'm thinking of registering on there but never been hunting on post.

So not sure if it's worth it for waterfowl.

Also not sure how it's set up. Are there blinds or can/should I hunt out of my kayak?

Any input would be appreciated. So far my deer tag is still just a tag. So I need to do better with duck this year than last to get meat in the freezer.

It's ok when we get weather.  I wouldn't say it's the hottest spot arround. No perm blinds allowed so most people hunt from boats. Lots of reedS. Also no gas motors.

They use an automated checkin/out system to hunt on base. They also sell maps but hard to read.

Thanks. I typically use a kayak to hunt out of. So reeds work good for me. I'm just thinking I may need to check it out. Kapowsin seems pretty dead so far.

Do they regulate pretty right out there?

I'm going to sign up out there this week. If anyone wants to take a JBLM rookie to show him good areas pm me. I'm always willing to learn. I have decoys, a kayak, shotgun. Everything I need other than a dog.

Get registered and scout the area lakes and marshes.
The hunt will suck untill crappy weather kicks in. Only local birds right now and they arnt in high numbers.
