« on: October 26, 2013, 07:41:40 PM »
saw 9 coyotes in a group or herd or bunch out in desert  and would like to thin them down a bit.  what is a good call or attractor to get them within range for a shot?    thanks,    mike w

R R Game Calls, has some great calls.  Sneak out quietly, and call softly. Don't over do it. Be ready.  Be aware of the wind and sun, use them to your advantage.

Rub sage on your clothing, call into the wind if possible and put a few drops of skunk essence/skunky lure down wind from you. I like decoys to take their attention off you, same with e-callers but they are spendy and the cheap ones are a waste of money. Continuous calling makes it easier to spot you so break it up for coyotes.

Bearmanrick makes great calls. See his sponsor page or PM him.

Look into the " TWEETY " . It's a good call. I have some RnR calls that Rick sent me that work very well too. Primos  " Little Dawg " ( thinks that's how it's spelled ) is a very goos all around call.

www.allpredatorcalls.com  is a good place to see just about all calls out there.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I can vouch for Rick's calls.  They're great!  Also, if you want to sound like a pack of coyotes, I've had good response from a Primos call called the "Double Whammy".  I've got a pack call on my FoxPro, now.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

good luck calling in a coyote in the desert unit! there is a ton of them but they get hunted super hard! i would definately try calling with something other than a rabbit or other distress call...like campmeat said something like a tweety bird call or even try to just do howls only...good luck! hopefully you get one out there!
