This years big guy
«
on:
November 02, 2008, 02:25:13 PM »
Hello all.
This was my bigger of the two from this year. He stretched 78 inches nose to base of tail Dont know the skull yet but the guy cleaning it says its definately book.
I shot this one with my bow, ranged him at 52 yards. Only shot he offered was straight on, he was sitting and facing me. I put the arrow through the opening, into his neck which went through and nabbed his jugular(spelling) passing through into his lungs. he didn't go but 2 steps and dropped. Killer moan at the end of a killer stalk and bow hunt. Hes now pepperoni
)
We put him on a 350 pound scale but it topped out with his head on the floor still. Sorry for the pic, its off my cell. I'm 5'9 and 200 lbs for reference.
Hes not my biggest bear, but biggest in WA.

Good to see you on this site. How was trapping last year? Be good to see some pics of those kitties. I've been puttin lots of beaver away this year on the nuisance permits - over 30 so far. Lots of boomers too. Keeping a the bear well fed in my neck of the woods.

gettin bear with a bow is something to shout about. sweet!!! spot and stalk or ? love to hear how it went down. i got a 400 pounder at 6 yrds about five yrs ago with my bow. shot at 70 over his back he ran right at me. waited till i could not miss and drilling him thru the top of his neck drove it through his spine. thank god he dropped. put another one in him just for good measure. Love to hunt those
big boars.
