Lets see some slug guns.
« on: October 28, 2013, 03:50:37 AM »
For some reason I have developed a thing for slug guns. Doesent matter, smooth bore or not, something about em I love.
So lets see everyone's slug guns. And maybe a favorite kill or two or so.
Mine are my first slug experience, my Dad's Mossy 500 rifled. My first elk, 80 yards Winchester partition golds
My salvaged Mossy 500 field barrel, smoothbore. Federal rifled slug, 120 yards.
My first kill with my own rifled slug gun, Mossy 535 slugster, bushnell 1.5-4.5 scope, 120 ish yards, Winchester partition golds
My favorite kill though I dont have on this computer yet. My step-son's first deer, a little spike, with my Mossy 535, 100 yards

Here's my biggest racked island deer using my wife's Mossberg 500 20g, rifled barrel and Hornady SSTs.  I think the shot was about 30 yards off my workshop deck.

She shot a buck and I shot one other buck with the gun.

My first deer was with a Rem 1100 20g, rifled slug in WI when I was 12.  He only had spikes but was an old deer, I'll have to track down some photos.

I do think it is silly to not allow 20g for elk though.
