Its raining here today, wish I could be out there to see how it changes their habits. I know for a fact most rut activity has been happening at night for some time now, but just last night a friend of mines mom shot a boomer 4 point right on a does tail a good half hour or 45 minutes before dark. I can't really imagine any does already having been bred this early but I suppose its possible. I plan on packing my camera into my spot tonight and seeing what I should have really held out for...

Worst hunting year I ever Had is this year....last day today and I'm feeling crushed. I haven't even seen a deer let along a buck--so pathetic, I hope I can connect this evening. I'm ready to shoot a cow or a horse on my way home by the farmers place just to get this fever to go away.

I have had many worse years for seeing deer than this year.  The weather wasn't ideal but it was consistent and I was able to get out on the weekdays.  In years past when the sun waited for the weekend after all week of good hunting weather I saw less deer, this year since it was consistently bad hunting weather the deer where I hunt ended up going about their normal routines and were out and about in good numbers.

Today seems to be a great day for blacktails....seeing plenty of bucks out and about, they don't seem to care about people either.  :bash:

Yeah, the first week of November is always a good time to see blacktails. The best time actually, other than July/August.
