Wyoming tag soup
« on: October 30, 2013, 02:28:47 PM »
Back from WY and the bad news is that I had tag soup for Elk.  Good news it was a great adventure with a Griz sighting and lots of beautiful country to wonder around and chase Elk in.  Love that country!

Did you chase elk or just get chased by grizzlies?

The Griz was 250 yrds away and we just backed out.  Saw lots of Elk over the course of time I was ther but just could not close the deal.  Made a great stalk on a great bull with my buddy but the wind shifted and he blew out never to be seen again.
We did not see another hunter the entire 8 days I was hunting there.

All in all it was a great time!  I've often said that is not about the kill as much as it is about the experiences we have afield with family and friends.  I am blessed to be able to travel to WY every year to hunt Elk and speed goat in places most people dream about.
