http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/british-columbia/workers-close-encounter-with-wolves-prompts-warning-for-bcs-interior/article15125546/

British Columbia’s forest safety council has issued an unusual safety alert after a forestry worker narrowly escaped a pack of wolves while working in the province’s southern Interior.

The bulletin says a woman working for a forest management firm was approached by at least five aggressive wolves while she was working near Merritt two weeks ago.

The warning says the wolves came within three metres of her, and as the woman reached for a can of bear spray, one of her two dogs tried to take on the wolves.

The B.C. Forest Safety Council says the woman managed to make it back to her truck uninjured and called for help.

The dog that fought with the wolves was badly injured and had to be put down.

The bulletin says anyone who encounters wolves should raise their arms to make themselves appear larger, make loud noises, and use bear mace if the animals get close enough.

But don't worry the wolves wouldn't hurt her, they were just defending their territory. (My personal sarcastic commentary)
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Isn't BC what Washington state is trying to become?  :chuckle:

If the forums are any indication, the west side has arrived.

Why would all the west side Californians want to become Canadians?   :dunno:
I thought they were trying to make Washington just a suburb of California.

Some on here would say yes, just defending their territory.... When will people wake up and realize that eventually, here in Washington, th same will happen, maybe not with as good of results? The wolves here seem to be a little bolder, leading smost to realize their habituation to people?

I'd rather be BC than California.

I was recently down in the Antelope Valley and some parts of it made me feel like I was on the set of Mad Max 2013.
Which side are you on if neither will claim you?

Good put Northway,  it feels more like a battle when you get on the roads down in California.  Just got back from a short trip to San Diego and the majority puts their brains in the glove box before turning over their machine.  Place is totally out of control!
