Good for you man! I drew a second archery tag a few years back and used it as an opportunity to let my daughter witness a deer being shot up close and personal. I think she was 6 or 7? It buried the hook deep and now she's the shooter.

I'll warn you though, having to lay there and watch your kid take a shot on a buck (especially a big one) is one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of your life... :chuckle:

More than watching your wife draw back on a big bull!!!?  No wonder we never had kids.  Not sure I could handle it :chuckle:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Congrats some tender meat in the freezer there. Passed on a spike and 3 point last weekend. Was an off year in my area.

Don't know, my wife doesn't hunt.  But have had to do it twice with the boy.  First time he was 12 and took a 290 yard shot, steep uphill angle at a 150 class whitetail that was facing him (staring at us) and about to bolt.   second time was last month when we found 3 bucks bedded in a draw.  The first two (the smaller 2) stood up from their beds and we had to wait for the big guy (a 150 class mulie) to stand for a shot.  There was a nice 3x3 in the group and I was terrified that the boy was going to take one look at that buck and touch off the shot with the bigger buck still bedded at his feet.
He didn't miss either time, but man it's tough to watch.
