Nikon 3-9x40 BDC (Savage Trophy Hunter Pkg)

I want to buy a Savage 111 Trophy Hunter XP/Nikon 3-9x40 BDC combo. Any advice on that scope??Can I use it for big game hunting out to 400-500 yards???

I have the .270 Cal with that scope.

I can sight in a target at 4-500 yards pretty good. But you are not going to count points at that range with any 9x40.

Overall the scope is nice picks up light well and is very clear. but it is a 9 power.. My next scope will most likely be a Nikon but will go up to at least 16 power
