Thanks Man...I saw a pig last week but couldn't get a shot off. This little six ran out in front of me at about 50 yards. Second year in a row for an elk with my 45-70 Marlin. It was fun. Pretty slow hunting though...

Not much of a story...
I was onto a small herd in the morning and I just happened to set up on a trail that a calf and small bull decided to use to feed on. When the herd spooked, I heard horns hitting the trees below me. My gun had an issue, lost a pin that allowed the lever to close, the day before so I decided to head to town to get my gun fixed. My cousin was giving me a ride to my truck when we spotted the same herd below where I had spooked them. When I snuck up on them, I saw the same small bull that I had seen 30 minutes prior. Then the six stepped out. Two shots with my 45-70 and it was all over. My Dad still has a permit...he has never shot a big bull. I wish he could get a shot at one. He told me that he was just as excited when he saw my big bull on the ground as he was when I shot my first deer. Once a Dad, always a Dad...God is good.

That's awesome man congrats!  There's nothing like hunting with your dad. I really wanted my dad to drop a bull this year since I dropped one last year but it just happened that I did again this year. Its been since 2005 since his last one. Really felt kind of guilty but he was super excited for me and it was one of those priceless moments.
