Montana Sheep Down!
« on: November 03, 2008, 07:08:25 AM »
Ok guys, gotta brag a little bit here.  One of my Dad's very best friends killed a very nice Sheep in Montana this past weekend.  The rut has been coming on and the Sheep are starting to yard up.  Ron (now known as sheep killer) finally drew a Montana bighorn tag this year, he found out about it probably 10 days after his 82nd birthday!  I was wanted to go help him look for sheep here in 2 weeks, but I guess he got it done all on his own!  This guy has been a great friend to my Dad and they pal around quite a bit back home and I have been snowmobiling with this guy for years now.  He is amazingly young for his age and he still rides a Polaris 700RMK with a 155" track like he's 30 years old.  Anyway, here's some pics of his beautiful Montana ram, I couldn't think of a guy who deserves it more!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Tell him Congrats, Gold!! Nice looking ram, I will keep trying to draw one of those Montana tags.

After 82 years, I suppose he deserved a ram in a flat grassy meadow.  (?)  what are the odds of that?

bow4elk, the odds are pretty damn good of killing on in a flat grassy meadow right at this time as they come into rut, at least in the Thompson Falls area.  This guy deserves a sheep probably more than I ever will.  Just a truly great guy!

Yeah, I'm not familiar with that area at all.  I've filmed a lot of sheep (years ago) and I always had to go into "goat mode" just to get to them, even during the rut.  That's pretty inspiring to see an 82 year old man still after it - and SUCCESSFUL!  Pass on a sincere Congrats!

Great sheep.  I figure that's how old I'll be when I finally draw my WA sheep tag.  One of you guys are going to have to carry me up the mountain.

Very nice.  Whata great story also.  I hope one day to get my Dad back into hunting and get him something like that.
