Anyone been out on the river from Wenatchee up this year?  Thinking about going soon.

Maybe see some soon.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

The river is pretty slow right now I'm afraid.  Most birds are locals -decoy and call shy.   I think things are on the upswing, but I'd hold off for a week or two before making your trip.   :twocents:

Hunted north of Wenatchee today, very slow. Once you shoot at the locals, might as well pack up for the day. Some cold weather will start to help but for now its very slow

I saw a lot of widgon sitting in the middle of some big water.
The first bird may get the worm, but it's the second rat that gets the cheese.

Psst....I'll tell you a secret........When the locals tell you not to come over and that there aren't any birds......pack your gear and get over there immediately.  Speaking from experience.  :IBCOOL:  best hunt I've ever had over there was when everyone said there weren't any birds on the river.

Local here.... Not many birds around. few limits pulled out and a ton of hours put in... Not worth the trip yet... Wait a few more weeks once the ponds start to freeze. check the weather around the area and then decide on when to pull the trigger.

 :yeah:

Solid advice.
When it gets cold, the river is the only place with water that isn't frozen.
Ducks from MILES around flock to it.
Stan Marsh: "My Uncle Jimbo says we gotta get up there early. Right Uncle Jimbo?"

Jimbo: "That's right, Stanley. Animals are much easier to shoot in the morning."
