This is a funny topic because it comes up About once a month.  I did a lot of research and ended up going with the vortex.  1st reason is it has red numbers so it is easier to see.  2.  It is the only rangefinder I could find that was waterproof. 3.  Most importantly it has a lifetime warrenty.  Talked to a lot of guys with the leupold range finders and they were convinced they had a lifetime warrenty because of there other products having it.  However if you look on there website it only has a 2 year warrenty.   Hope this helped.  But just wait the next guy will have reasons they don't like the Vortex.   I tested it out and got fast readings out to 920.

Vortex for me. Used both. Went with the Vortex cause of the warranty and less clutter when ranging. I've used it for archery and rifle. Its been accurate on a bear at 52 yards with a steep angle and another bear at 715 yards. Honestly you can't go wrong with either.

If those are your only two options go Vortex. If you want another option look at the Leica 1600b

I don't know how my vortex works, but I will be able to let you know how customer service and warranty works soon!  :dunno:

It doesn't turn on most of the time, changed battery still no workie. :yike:
