Cow elk close up w/Moultrie d55
« on: November 03, 2013, 04:46:14 PM »
I haven't posted any trail cam pictures in quite a while. This one I thought was pretty good. Got bull pictures too but nothing special.

I sure do like this Moultrie d55 cam with the white flash. Especially for what I paid for it ($56). I would recommend it, if you're wanting color pictures at night. However, it is the type of camera that requires some kind of attractant or bait, the trigger is too slow otherwise.

Battery life isn't nearly as good as a lot of trail cameras, but it's a lot better than my old Moultrie D40's. It takes 6 C batteries, and I think I could get at least 6 weeks out of them, at least in the summer with warmer temps. However I normally run it on a Stealth Cam 6 volt external battery. When I'm baiting regularly I get two to three hundred pictures per week.

What I like most about the camera is the color night pictures and very little blur, like you usually will get with most infrared cameras.
