Son's first bear
« on: November 04, 2013, 09:46:02 AM »
Here's my son Justin with his first bear that he got back in october. We found the bear feeding just below the snow line and after
getting a good rest he was able to put him down with a great shot. He was a nice boar with a big head and beautiful jet black
coat.

Way to go Justin.  Nice to see you and your dad getting it done.  I know you've been wanting a bear for a while and you got yourself a real dandy.  Congrats...

P.S.  Time to put that dog of yours to work fetching some mallards...

30-06 M77?

Great bear and very nice picture.  I sure like tagging bear around the snow.  I'm sure your son will be telling this story to his own son one day as they get ready to tag your grandson's first bear.  Pretty dang cool.  Thank you for sharing it with us!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Thats a 270 win m77. I really like the rifle. Nothing fancy but shoots great. I bought the rifle when I was 15 years old.
I shot my first bear with it. Now my son has shot his first bear with it. The only difference is at age 13, he beat me by
10 years and his bear was guite a bit bigger than mine was.
I'm proud of him, he put his time in. Thats what memories are made of.
