Garmin 62s and hunting gps WA chip

So I just got a garmin 62s gps and the hunting gps WA chip and like it so far. Just curious if theres more maps or anything else I should download on the gps or is the hunting wa chip one of the better maps I should need? Thanks for any help/info

That's an awesome combination. If you plan to use the GPS for outdoor activities in Washington, there is nothing further you need.

Where did you get the hunting chip and does it have public land/private land maps?
I'm researching to find the best combination but also don't want to spend a whole paycheck either.

I got mine at cabelas and yea it shows everything you need to know public land, private land with names, and  property boundries. Worth every penny about $100. Check out there website hunting Huntinggpsmaps.com

I just did a thread about the same 62 s.  maybe we will learn some stuff.  I had the old garmin etrex but it would not hold a chip.  looking forward to next hunt season.  mike w

I don't have any experience with the 62, but I do have experience with the chips and the company. I have found land all over the place in WA and ID. I found about 1,ooo + acres rite by our lake cabin and we have had the cabin in the family since before me. these maps are worth the money especially if you get the chip with the land owners info. for all you guys who didn't know, when you buy a chip you get one free update which you usually up date once a year for the land ownerships, just call them up or e mail them and get it gifured out. not to mention these guys have a 40$ per year version for your computer that over lays google earth i think is what you use with it.

I love it so far, I have found state land that I never knew was there, thanks to the chip.

I love my 62st, ya I know the "t" is basically worthless and not worth the added cost. The only problem, or irritant I have with mine, is if you do not save and turn off tracking before you shut it off, the next time you turn it on you will have straight track lines going from where you turned it off to where you turned it back on again.
In my case they went from Puyallup to Trout Lake to Winthrop, back to Puyallup, over to Wynoochie, and back to Puyallup. 
I did not realize it would do this until I uploaded all my tracks into Base Map.
There are tons of people complaining about this on the Garmin forums (this affects all Garmins with the new software load)

To resolve this, turn off tracking before you shut down, then remember to turn tracking back on when you start it back up.

Love the combo. I have the 62st and hunt GPS Wa and have found a lot of land I didn't know was available to the public.
