I know, and they are doing so much damage.   Hopefully they like horsemeat more than antelope.
agreed! The horses are a huge problem the tribe really needs to address.

My Dad and I have seen a lone wolf in Cowichie below Eagles nest... Stalking elk.... Have also seen other tracks... Talked to some cattle ranchers and one has seen and heard them howling along with tracks of a small group in the snow... Because of how many people/pressure 368 receives and see's I'm doubting many wolf call it their "home".... I'm sure most are just venturing out for food and their own turf... Then the hunting/orv/camping/shooting, pressure and move on for the most part.... Or catch a gut shot....   :twocents:

I spend 50+ days a year in the cowiche. I highly doubt there are wolves in that unit
.  If they have been seen in Rimrock what's going to keep them from heading south?

We've been just as other neighboring Tribes have.  Hopefully we win in some future court battles cuz the greenie groups aren't helping any.  That and the processing facilities get moving so we can start shipping some horses.

Speaking of Antelope - this is one area the wolves may well be beneficial.

coyotes would do far more damage to the 'lope than wolves will.  Lower the coyote population with wolves and the speedgoats will do better.

I highly and emphasize highly doubt anybody in our wildlife dept. Participated in such a thimg because I know majority of the hunters in our Tribe do not cate or want wolves and if this occured its not going to take long for council members ' heads to roll for doing such a thing unwanted. I'm very sure they'd lay blame and do everything to not allow such a thing before they'd risk thwir own necks and PAYCHECKS.

I have corresponded extensively with the WDFW, the USFWS, the NPS, and the NFS about transplanting wolves anywhere in WA. They haven't done it. Wolves have definitely travelled across the state and I saw one in the Winston Unit two years ago at very close range. The hoops the gubmint needs to jump through to move these critters are extreme and expensive, especially when they move around on their own with zero difficulty. Whether or not private groups have done it is another story. My :twocents:
