Let us know how you do at Buoy 10.  I am headed down there on Sunday and probably all (or most) of Labor Day weekend.  Hopefully they will hang out before heading up-river.  Last year they went from the ocean to Bonneville without stopping at the mouth.

Ya gotta get out early!! Ive been getting out by 4:00 a.m.  All the action Ive been seeing dies off tremendously after 6:00-6:30. Guys are still nailing them, just not as many takedowns and multiple boats with fish on at one time :fishin:

"Lost 18 fish"?  Holy balls!  What were ya doing, horseing them or setting the hook? Just kidding!  Did you have them on for long or did they pull off pretty quickly?  Congrats on the coho!  It sounds like you had a fun time, that's what it's all about! I was supposed to head down to BUoy 10 tomorrow but I have a wedding to go today and I need to do a test run on my boat before I take it on the big C.  I haven't run it since last fall and I want to make sure it is in top running condition before I take my little girl out for kings!

It was weird... The diver would trip, i would get the rod in my hands, line would start peeling and then gone...
We lost 2 at the boat. One tried to jump in the boat but was about 6 inches short on his height. He hit the side of the boat and was gone.
We fished from 0800 to 1545, and we would have been limited by 1000 if i could have kept a few on the hook...

Have you ever tried one of those "rubber snubber" things behind your diver?  I ran into an old dude at Chinook 2 years ago who swears by them.  He was the only guy that I saw who had limits of chinook and coho on his boat.  Everyone else that I talked to had the same problem of getting hooked up and then losing them almost immediately.  I bought a couple from him but haven't had the chance to try em' out yet.  I will next week.

The other 2 in the boat were having no problems... And the guy i was fishing with has been fishing down there and in the ocean for 30+ years.
He said he has only had 1 day like this in all his years down there. About 15 years ago he was fishing outside the CR and he said he hooked over 20 fish, and did not put any of them on the boat. My hooks were sharp. Just couldn't keep them on the hook...

Law of averages.   :bash:  I had one of those days on the Humptulips years ago.  We were getting take-downs in every hole we slid through and lost every fish within just a few yards of their run.  After losing 15-20 fish we headed for the pull-out.  We stopped to try one last hole a few yards above our rig and both of us limited on 35-40 lb kings.  It is just one of those unexplainable "snake bite:" days. :bash:
