Jimmyv's Bighorn Sheep (Pic's added)
« on: November 11, 2013, 06:26:56 PM »
I had the pleasure of meeting and helping Jimmyv on his California Bighorn Sheep hunt this past weekend. He asked me to post a picture and he wanted to add to it at a later time.
I just wanted to say, and no offence to any of the other 14 sheep hunters I've helped over the years, but this was the most gratifying sheep hunt I've ever had the privilege to help out on. There was definitely a higher power helping us out on this one Jim. Congratulations on a great ram. You earned and deserved this one.

Hunting for 60 years.
This tops it with good people Ric with All that's wild taxidermy and Beau with Wilderness Expeditions LLc.
Gave up their own personal time to help this handicapped hunter for two days. Reminds me of what i have heard about the old days.
Living on the west side you never hear about this kind of giving, makes me want to move.
This hunt will go down as the best hunt i have ever been on.
Truly a great hunt with some over the top people.
Going up was probably 1000 yards UP and would have giving up but Ric as Mr friendly kept incouraging me as you can make it,held my rifle and at times my cane as i crawled up and when we got to where the sheep where he slid me in to position first taking my rifle up than i was so tired that i said shoot it (handicapped) and again he said you can do it.So moved in to position for a 100 yard shoot,so tired and hurting and found sheep in the crosshairs and fired.SHEEP  DOWN.
What a great time ,loaded up on the Morphine and made the hunt.
Ric will be a friend for the rest of my time.

It was my pleasure Jimmy. I also wanted to thank Ty Brown (Norsepeak) from Rugged Class Outfitters and his friend Rick Woodall for there help on Friday. This hunt could probably been a little easier and maybe faster had the owner of the gravel pit showed up with a key to the gate at Mud Lake. He had promised it to us for one day earlier in the week and like I said he didn't show. By the time we drove all the way around via the Bald Mountain rd the sheep were already to high on the hill for a good shot.

I'll post some more pictures. Here's Jimmy and His grandson Grant. This was Grant's 1st hunt. He had so much fun that he is going to come back over and take my Hunter Ed class. It's never too young to start!
