My Friends' Recent Deer
« on: November 04, 2008, 03:51:27 PM »
Here are pictures of three of my friends deer.

This was her first deer.

This also was his first deer, a button buck.  This one will taste good!

This was his fifth deer.

It looks bad from the angle but she is at least two feet in front of him and the gun is angled forward.  And the gun is definately not loaded!

I know that his deer is very small.  We thought it was bigger because it was next to a fence and was as tall as it.  The fence was not as tall as we thought it was.  He is definately hooked on hunting though.

nice deer, but I also cant believe he would shoot one that small.. that thing weighed all of what....... 85lbs live? but I must admit when I was younger I shot one about that size on a ridge....... talk about ground shrinkage!!!! I swore it was a full size deer as well, sometimes in the right cover etc.... they appear much larger

Who cares how big it is as long as its legal.  Taking a few small deer isn't going to hurt anything.  Good work.  I'm sure its going to be nice an tender  :cue:
Will hunt for food.

He's happy, it's legal, I fail to see anything to criticize.  I'm glad to see another happy young hunter.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I am glad the new/young hunters were successful, but I have to question the "button buck".
I am not sure if he had an antlerless tag or not, but I don't see any antlers "above the hair" even blown up to 400%.

Directly from the 2008 regs.
Any Buck: Any deer with visible antlers may be taken (fawns illegal).
Antlerless: Deer without antlers. Doe or fawn deer are antlerless.
