Bipod or Tripod?
« on: December 02, 2013, 08:36:09 AM »
I have been thinking of picking up one of the Primos trigger sticks for predator hunting. I can't decide between the bipod or tripod. I haven't used a bi/tripod before so I figured I'd ask others that have. What would you suggest?

I have been using the bipod for years and never considered a tri pod.  Also I imagine the tripod would get in the way of your ability to lean forward and backward as such to adjust your positioning on the shot with regards to shooting at different elevations on the fly.  In other words I could see a tri pod being a hindrance.  Bi pod works great in my opinion bottom line.

I have been using Stoney Point PoleCat Steady Stix 2 Bipod Shooting Sticks Magnum Black with Belt Pouch and have been happy with them.  It folds up compact, nice and neat and stow easily in my ORV gear bag or daypack.  The Bog Pods do not collapse small enough for my preference.  I am eyeing the Primos tripod setup for sitting but would hate to plunk down 90+bucks for something that may not work so well on uneven terrain which is essentially everywhere I would hunt with it!

I like the bipod because it's so much easier ands faster to set up & take down. Really personal preference, though.

Sounds like the bipod is preferred by most. Thanks everyone for your input.
