I thought I would be hunting blacktails like I usually do. Turns out we're heading to my dad's in Idaho. So we're going to stop at my brothers on the way out there. He lives near Hartline. He and I are planning on spending a day hunting somewhere out there. I hope he comes up with a good spot! In any case, yes, I'm excited. Can't wait.

Yeah, I'll be in the 578 even though my wife keeps telling me all the legal bulls in our area have been shot...

That will be a good hunt with that doe tag, last year I was in them thick and let me tell you it was a good time, those girls are smart deer in the late season. I got the run around more times than I hate to admit :yike: If they give the stink eye to you give me a shout out and maybe we can coordinate hunts as I will have to hunt horns this year. We run 4/7 on the GRMS. I plan on being down there every day 12/11 thru 12/ 15 in the Lake Arrowhead area. We will be leaving Olytown every morning and back to base camp in the suburbs :chuckle: Best of luck to you either way.

My junior hunter will be trying his hand at blackpowder hunting for the first time, though he has excellent marksmanship. He went to unit 111 rifle hunting  to get his first deer in 2011, that was more exciting than we wanted.
Wife will be attempting to extend her 3 year run of luck at the same time.  We hunt 407, staying close to home.  She's comfortable and capable in the local spots, so he and I will split off and let her have some peace and quiet!
