Have 2 and don't know why you would even need to look for anything else . Amazing knifes.

Wifes finger after I had to cut out a HUGE sliver. Havalon blade was sharp and let me cut only what I needed to get it out. Wife was a champ and took it better than I would have. That sucker was deep and nasty. I got that little piece out just ater this photo was taken.

I love them but the only problem I have is that the blases seem to wander off after they get changed. My set up is pretty good so most of my friends use my house to skin and hand thier animals and they all have Havalon knives. I find blades in my yard all the time and I dont know where they all come from.

The differences between a buck and a Havalon is that a buck is a strong iron blade.  You can force the blade to work and put presure on the blade.

The Havalon is a delicate blade. It's power is the sharpness of the blade.  WHen it gets dull you just replace the blade.  You do NOT force the blade.  You do NOT put very much pressure on the blade.  It is soo darn shape you have to learn to use it.  If you break a blade or it gets dull you just replace it.  The buck knife if you break the blade you are done.

I would put your location and see if anyone would want to meet up with you and you can check it out.  If you live near Puyallup we can meet up and I can let me mess with it.

I love mine.

Seriously Google Havalon Piranta and try to find some negative reviews. They are reviewed very highly by a lot of people.  For what they are they're great.

I just bought a Piranta Trophy Skinner and love it. It's the only knife I carry in the field now. I also carry a Gerber Game Hatchet for the tougher jobs like pelvis and rib splitting. So far I have only cut myself once.  :chuckle: :chuckle: Knock on wood
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
