Ejection port Handle
« on: November 14, 2013, 01:48:12 PM »
Well i was out duck hunting today and i went to pull back the lever that bring back the action/ejection port and it wasnt there! I assumed it must have fallen off from the recoil from a previous shot i looked around my blind for about an hour and could not find it, i imagine it got thrown pretty good if it was from the recoil. I continued hunting by just loading after shooting but then i got a dud and the gun never cycled the round and i had to go home to get a screwdriver to cycle the round out.

Anybody ever have this happen to them with any autoloaders? Im assuming ill have to take it to smith but figured i would see if anybody knows a makeshift way to fix it or anything?  :dunno:

I snuck around the barn to smack a bird and I guess I was to close and when the action came back or forward it snapped it off.  If it popped out, more than likely it wasn't in all the way or had come loose, which you don't typically see.  I would just purchase a replacement and place it back it. Many auto loaders you have to push back on the bolt face or pull straight out to remove the charging handle.  If it's not snapped off, no reason to take it to a gun smith. Look at the parts list and get it from the gun manufacturer, Brownells, Midway USA etc.  It should go right back in with proper pressure.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
