Eagle Perch Ranch

Is anyone a member at Eagle Perch Ranch just north of Duvall, south of Monroe?  Looked like a nice set up.  Didn't see any birds flying but lots of corn in the area.

Pretty sure the owner just died a couple weeks ago...... think all the land might be up for grabs next year. So I hear any ways. Hunt a lot of the surrounding properties.

yeah im a member.   I Got to know al last year and he was one of the nicest men you ever met.  Not to mention an incredible hunter and educator as well.  This was my first year with a membership, but i spent a lot of the summer working with Al getting the property ready for the season.  It is a great setup, once the ducks are in the valley.  We have four different blinds on the lake, three in the fields and one that we are still trying to put in on crescent lake.  Since his passing, that blind has come to a stand still.  His blinds and facilities are all top notch, it is not over hunted and there are decoys set up for you.  His son owns the property/landscaping company there, so lets hope he can continue on the tradition of his father at eagle perch ranch.

Al was a good guy with a passion for duck club management.

Years past the club had most of the prime locations in the valley. For different reasons many of the properties were lost.

The properties that remain are still good properties. Most notably is the "Honor farm pond"

Not sure how the club is run these days but in years past there were two slots per blind. There was an AM and A PM hunt and the drawings were done prior to the season.


I am also not sure what the going price tag is now but years past it was right around $1600.00 / season.

Interesting, Crescent Lake is public.  Why would a hunt club put a blind on public land?

There is a small part of the lake that runs through his property where the birds like to hold.  It was just always a dream of his to get it to that spot.  It was the project that we were working on when he passed.

Yeah I'm a member of sorts as well Al was a great guy. His funeral is sat in Bellevue.

Sorry to hear about Al. I met him earlier this year when I was thinking about joining, but up getting a different property close by at the last minute. I might look into it again next year if they are still running the club.

The general area hunts well when the birds are in. So far this year we have been doing OK. Nothing super special, but coming home with dead ducks every trip

Driving the valley from I-5 to Monroe then south to Duvall I have seen more corn planted for birds than I ever have.  More corn down their than all of Skagit County.  Pretty amazing.  Must be a lot of flourishing clubs or a lot of money being placed into waterfowl hunting leases.

  Acres upon acres of standing corn, a ton of money tied into that club. I think that's the same group that showed up at the last DU meeting, if so they're known as the "brat pack".

Every duck in the county will be in that corn soon,might even change the local fly way

Just met Al this past August at the DU banquet. Great man, did a lot for the youth. He will be missed.

his son Steve and a couple members have been helping a bit i think he hired someone to go through all the paperwork etc.
