Deer with infection
«

I just shot a whitetail buck that had a serious infection from I assume fighting another. He had large puss pockets around the wounds and was very emaciated practically skin and bones. Wondering about how the meat will be has anyone came across this before.

Yeah, I'd be tossing that carcass. Note: WDFW "may" give you a replacement tag if you show it to them.

I wouldn't even touch it, I'm sure the game dept would give you a replacement tag. Where did you shoot it?

had one like that come through our place this last year, my dad setup with the intent on putting it down. After wards showed it to a game warden and got a new tag. I wouldn't risk eating infected meat.
