looking for help in gmus 218 or 247
« on: November 18, 2013, 09:40:59 PM »
I'm planning on hunting these gmus for the 2014 deer season. I usually get the multiseason tag so I would be hunting these gmus for archery or modern. I don't want anyone s honeyhole I just want to know if anyone has any tips. Like certain maps to buy or a general area in the gmu that has been known to hold mule deer. The reason I'm asking for help so early is because I plan to do a lot of scouting. Thank you for your time.

I do a lot of coyote hunting up the Crum Canyon area.  See lots of big deer there, too.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

I hunted 224 for over 50 years, loved it, shot many nice bucks. Had to leave, too many hunters. You'll find the right place for you, spend the time scouting, good luck!

Be prepared to see lots of hunter orange.

Also as you know those areas produce the best during the migration time frame or special permit time.

Yea I've done a ton of research on the areas. If lucky enough to draw the tag one should have a quality hunt.

Yes. Right turn 7 miles up Entiat River Rd.  If you are looking for a place with no other hunters, that aint it!  saw lots of big deer there, though.
